Yesterday was the 5-week point since my urethroplasty (end-to-end). I’ve been feeling less pain so I’ve tried a little bit of sitting with a very fluffy pillow, and that was OK. I also did a little driving – also sitting on a soft pillow and leaning back a bit. The scrotal pain is still there, as well as some pain along the incision area. But though it is hard to gauge on a day-to-day basis, because the healing is slow slow, I tried remembering the pain of a week or even 2 weeks ago and doing THAT, I was definitely able to determine that the pain has improved by a lot.
On Monday, I over-did it though, actually sitting for awhile on an office chair with no pillow. While it didn’t hurt much at the time, I DEFINITELY knew about it that evening. Mainly the pain was on the surface – sort of “pins-and-needles” on the skin. It actually felt a bit like a sunburn at times. I also noticed that night that my pee took a couple of seconds to start and I had a split stream at first. But within a few seconds, I was back to the strong stream My assumption was that due to the fact that things are still swollen under the skin, I put squashing pressure on everything when I sat for a while on the normal chair, which may have sort of “smooshed” everything to tightly together. Obviously that is just my opinion.
The great news is that the pee-stream has continued to be strong at every other time, so the surgery definitely worked.
So I’m back to taking it much easier today. I’ll report back in a few more days.
