Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier

Hi, I have plans to undergo urethroplasty in mid December with Dr Allen Morey who I understand is one of the best urethroplasty surgeons in the country according to some. Does anyone have experience with Dr Morey of UT Southwestern Medical Center or recommend anyone else in the Texas area?
I just had it done in his office, but different surgeon. Dr Steven Hudak. I didn’t have much problems sitting after. The mouth was the worst part of the pain, for about 7 days. Overall, it was a very positive process and procedure. Time will tell if it fixes everything. I’m doing my 3 week post op appointment soon. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for letting me know vtloki. I am scheduled for mid December, nervous, and hoping for positive results as well. Best of luck to you and congrats on your post op coming up. If you could, please share with us your overall progress.
I’m about 2 weeks after the catheter was removed. Flow is amazing. Only thing I still have is some tenderness and numbness around the penis and testicles. The doctor said that should go away with time as the incisions and nerve/tissue continue to heal. But all of that looked good and as expected at my 3 week follow up.
So far, things are great.
Hi:
I do hope, you are fully recovered. How much charge for this surgery on average in U.S. I am from Canada.
Thanks.
Yes, I’m doing great. Cost wise, without insurance, whew, it’s gonna be pricy. I have a high deductible plan, so I can have a HSA (health savings account) and I think I was covered 80% and my cost was still around 3-4K. I’d probably put the total cost around 20-25k if you don’t have insurance. Just a ball park.
Hi
Thank you for information.
