Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier
Living With A Urinary Catheter › Forums › Urethral Strictures And Their Treatments › Urethral Stricture Due to Radiation for Prostate Cancer
I am 73 years old and have developed a Urethral Stricture Due to Radiation for prostate Cancer 8 years ago. My stricture is 1 cm and is located in the Urethral Membranous Area (External sphincter right below the prostate). I been advised by my doc that I need a Urethroplasty. I have been researching both the operation and for a top surgeon.
I have not been able find any reports on this site from men my age(73) that have experienced radiation and the operation. I am hopeful that other folks my age could relate their experiences. In April I have an appointment with Dr. Alsikafi who is president and a member of Trauma and Urologic Reconstruction Network of Surgeons (TURNS). I found him through this site.
Any comments will be appreciated. I will continue to report my progress.
This forum is fantastic and I thank you, Ken for starting and maintaining it.
