Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier
Living With A Urinary Catheter › Forums › Urethral Strictures And Their Treatments › Recent treatment
I am a 59 year old male who has had the graft from my mouth to repair my stricture. It is 7 weeks since I had the operation and having read all the issues I must say I have sailed through to this point with little to no pain and mouth healing quickly.
However at the site of the operation a peri uerthagram showed a leak at the 3 week point. An attempt to take the cathter out was made at the 5 week stage but there was still a leak so it went back in.
We are now at the 7 week stage and my question is at what point will the leak heal or seal or is this a deemed failure to be done again.whilst the treatment has been good the communication has been weak.i think they are waiting to the 8 week stage. They have done these operations before many times so it’s not lack of experience.
I am now 12 weeks on and cathther free but I had a urine sample taken today by the doctor who says there is blood in the urine. Mmmmmmm is this another complication on something that has taken three times as long as it should.
The ureathgram showed the site had now healed at 10 weeks and they wanted to take it out on Friday at 4pm I said not a chance we can do it Monday when everyone is working.
