ParticipantI am pretty sure I have had strictures
for quite some time. For the past 7 weeks I have been having pain at the tip of my penis pretty much all of the time. Sometimes it is worse than others. I have been tested for a UTI as well as STDs (which I knew I did not have). For those of you who had pain with strictures what was the pain like? I have been to 4 Drs (2 URO Drs) I am seeing another this week. I know pain is not common with strictures, but if you had pain could you describe it and the location of it?September 17, 2018 at 7:47 pm #1854marker
ParticipantI’ve always had pain, ever since it began when I was about 13 (25 now). It is a needle-stinging pain, sometimes really bad, sometimes mild, occasionally non-existent.
Pain is similar for me – closer to the tip. My stream has weakened over time, and I no longer have as severe pain (If I could go back to the days where I had severe pain, but emptied my bladder 100% of the time, I would in a heartbeat). Also, pain for me also gets significantly worse w/ consumption of alcohol.
Sounds like you definitely have a stricture, have you had a cystoscopy? That will tell you for sure. I wouldn’t schedule any additional appointments if they include the cystoscopy, because you’ll be wasting your time. You gotta get in there and check it out unfortunately.
I’m looking at a urethroplasty w/buccal graft in mid November, bearing any prior medical hang-ups.

ParticipantI have a cyscopy scheduled on Oct 3rd. I’m nervous it will make the pain worse, but I’ll see what this Urologist says this week. He supposedly specializes in penile pain. In addition I have slight curvature but no palpable mass. I wonder if I have scar tissue inside and outside of the urethra.

ParticipantSubmitted an earlier comment on this but looks like it didn’t go through.
Basically a needle-like stinging pain near the tip. Pain come and goes and is worse randomly. Consistently worse when consuming alcohol.
Have you had a cystoscopy performed? They can suck but are really necessary to correctly diagnose. I wouldn’t waste your time with any other appointments unless they are going to be doing this procedure. Also make sure when they do the cystoscopy, they don’t try to bypass any stricture with the scope to enter your bladder. My first scoping they tried that and it was not fun. Second scoping was a breeze.

ParticipantI appreciate the response. Iwonder ahat causes the pain. Once I have my cyscoscopy I think I’ll do the urthroplasty. If it is a 2 stage procedure I might consider other options. I’m curious what percent of people need 2 stages.
