Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier

I am about a week away from my one year post-surgery. I will be seeing my doc on the 7th of July for a routine check. I am planning to post up here after that but I am just so excited that I am almost a year from my surgery that I wanted to share it will everyone that is getting there or about to embark on the journey.
It does get better and will get better. Seek out the best surgeon you can find and the best support network too.
This site (Ken) was one of the best things for me early on in the recovery process. There are so many questions that came up that I could bounce off the other 5-8 guys that were going through that same thing.
I appreciate all that Ken has done to get this forum up and running.
All the best to everyone. I will be back soon.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. Most of my story is posted in the pages on this site.

Went to the doc yesterday for my 1 year post-urethroplasty. Wow! Can’t believe it has been one year. All is good.
The flow test numbers looked great. And then he wanted to do another scope. I really don’t like that part. The numbing part is the most uncomfortable. The scope itself is not as bad.
He said the repair still looked great and that he would see me next year. The scope is not needed from here on out unless the flow numbers change.
I am also looking forward to being back on my bike. It has been a year since I have been on it. I am not a casual rider. I like long road rides with friends. We do maybe 50-70 miles when we go. So that was a huge loss to me when I had this surgery. It is time to get back.
The doc said that he usually refers back to a patients home urologist at this point too. But since I am a cyclist he wanted to keep me under his watch longer than usual.
I am happy with that. I trust his work and his opinion very much.
That is my story. I hope that everyone is recovering well.
Take care,
c
