Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier
Living With A Urinary Catheter › Forums › General Discussion › Hello everyone
My name is Jeremy and I’m 24 years old. I was in a car accident in December and have had a foley catheter since I woke up in the hospital. Since my pelvis got fractured, I ended up with a tear in my urethra. I also have had a suprapubic catheter placed today along with the foley, so two going on at once. My urologist is a specialty urologist and he has a plan on how to fix the structuring and will most likely be performing a urethroplasty. I am looking for support from people who have gone through this very same thing or from anyone who is currently going through it. I need someone I can talk to and that I can relate to, because no one in my life understands what I’m going through. Any help would be appreciated. I am even up for communicating outside of these forums via an instant messenger or something of the sort. I just really would love to be able to relate with someone and talk about these things with.
Hello Jeremy,
although I have not had a similar experience in terms of your accident, I have recently gone through a urethroplasty to fix my urethral stricture i the bulbur urethra. I have been writing a blog which you can find here. You can also ask as many questions as you want to my email which is available on the contact page of the blog
Thanks a lot for the response. I have actually been looking at your blog since I found out what was in store for me. May I ask how old you are? Also, I may be getting ahold of you via email if I have any more questions, although I typically don’t use email as a primary form of communication, haha. Thanks a lot Lewis.
