Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier
Living With A Urinary Catheter › Forums › General Discussion › Going from urinary to suprapubic
Back in August 2017 I was told that because of an enlarged prostate and a bladder that has stretched so large that an operation would only be 1 in 5 successful. I am a 82 year old male and had never been in the hospital up to this time and his recommendation was to go on an urinary catheter. Each month I have been going to the doctor’s office to have it changed and get a new leg bag and night bag. I will be seeing him for the first time in eight months week after next. I want to find out more what the operation would involved. Other than this situation, I am fairly healthy and active. I go to the YMCA for exercise six days a week. From what I have been reading on the internet, if it is permanent, it is not wise to have a urinary but you should have a suprapubic
catheter. I would just like to hear from someone who has gone from urinary to suprapubic and if it is better from your standpoint. Thanks for any suggestions or advise you can give me.
So, how are you doing GW?
