Tips To Help Make Life With A Catheter A Little Easier
Living With A Urinary Catheter › Forums › Urethral Strictures And Their Treatments › Going back to work
I am a 33 yr old. I have been dealing with strictures since I was 16. I am going to have Urethroplasty with Dr. Chen at the UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh in 10 days (yes, I have a countdown)
The doc has told me that my stricture appears to be short. He is intended to do a BM overlay. He has told me that I will have the cath for about 2 weeks. He has also stated that he has no problems with me going back to work, 1 week post-op with my cath in. I have an office job.
Has anyone tried to go back 1 week after the procedure? I am running out of vacation/sick time. I have had 2 DIVU’s in which the cath was left in for 10 days. I guess you could say that I am ok’ish with the cath.
ALso, any recommendations for taping the cath down? I usually use tape but have been looking into the cath patches as advertised on this website .
My husband had a buccal mucosa urethroplasty done last friday and his doctor has him out of work for six weeks. He had a very large stricture though.
