2.5 Months Post:
Hey all. Things have been churning along. I’m now 2.5 months post urethroplasty. I do still have some random bouts of pain and itching but they’re honestly not that bad (just irritating). I saw my doc last week. The flow came back maxing at ~33 (awesome), and averaging at ~23 (good enough). PVR was high, but likely because i downed so much fluid.
The one concern right now is the lack of ejaculation power. It still just oozes out. I spoke with my urologist who said he had never seen this happen in all of the times he has performed this procedure. He says that the surgery wasn’t close to any of the nerves that would cause this type of problem and really just had no idea what it would be. I asked about diagnostic tests and he said there are none that he can think of to determine what the problem is. Bottom line, my urologist basically said there’s nothing he can do for me in regards to this problem.
That’s kinda craptastic since it’s a complication of his surgery. I’d at least like to know what’s going on with my body. I have found some people performing research on this topic, however. The clinical term appears to be “semen sequestration”. I’m planning on contacting some of those urologists and asking for advice.
I guess the silver lining is that I think I can get enough out to impregnate, and if not it should be enough to artificially impregnate. Seeing as that’s the main side effect right now (no major pain spots as others have noted, only a little tight feeling but not bad during erections, etc) I guess I’ll consider myself lucky.
As always, I’m here to answer questions.
Peace.
