I’m back! The appointment went very well. Passed my uroflow test (Ken, not sure what the number was but I know it was much better than the first time I did it.) The results of the ultrasound must have been good too because they never said anything about the bladder still being full. The part I was most worried about was the cystoscopy. The prep took much longer than the actual camera. The uncomfortable part was the injection of the anesthetic. It was a fluid/gel that just numbs the inside of the urethra for the camera to make a pain free insertion. The doc took a look at the repair and was out in less than 2 minutes. He said the repair looked good and that I was cleared for all activities except anything involving straddling (bike, motorcycle, etc).
He answered all of my questions and he even asked me a question. He asked if I wouldn’t mind talking with a patient of his that is contemplating having the same procedure done. I didn’t even hesitate with a “yes”. I plan to pass along this site address as a resource if I do get connected with this person.
So…..that is my latest chapter. I see the doc again in July (one year post-surgery).
Have a happy thanksgiving.
