I just happened to have a follow-up appt. with Dr. T on Friday. I have had no problems now for 7+ years.
Doc said that at this point I probably won’t have any other problems related to the urethrostomy. I asked him about the general success rate and he said it is typically very high but it is very important that the urologist perform the procedure using a side-to-side anastomosis technique (vs some other approach that many urologist may use as it is simpler? but has a higher rate of the opening contracting over time).
