Thank you for your replies! He went to urologist this evening and he took out the spc. The dr. first mentioned something about leaving it in for a few more weeks and my husband thought to himself “either you take this thing out of i will!”. The dr did take it out, and he’s only gone to pee once or twice since then but he said it’s a bit better, the flow is still not like a firehose but he now feels like his bladder is actually empty after he peed. The dr. did say that he’s seen this before and it improves. He said his bladder has a narrow neck so if in the next few days his flow doesn’t get stronger, he can start him on some bladder meds, whatever that means. If that doesn’t work, he said he’ll scope him to see what’s going on in there. As of now he is very happy to be rid of all the catheters, it’s been 5 weeks of catheter hell. We’re just hoping his flow increases dramatically in the next few days and that the spc was impeding his pee.
