Today is day 4 after my surgery. Yesterday I pooped for the first time. I had been taking Senokot-S (a laxative) plus a stool softener before my operation. After three days I was still a little constipated. The first time was a little rough but since then I have had no trouble going. Also, I am eating a lot of soup (Chicken noodle and Lentil) and other soft foods. I also take a teaspoon of Baking Soda diluted in water. This helps to keep your urine less acidic. I drink a lot of water and use a night bag day and night. I continue to walk a lot.
My pain level is going down but I continue to use a low dose of pain med (Tramadol). My scrotum is still inflamed. Doc says that will go away in a couple of weeks along with the pain. Need a pillow to sit. Prefer to lie down.
After the first day my urine cleared up and has been clear ever since.
Doc told me that my prostate was almost totally blocked and he had to remove most of it and reconnect the urethra to what is left of prostate. He feels the bladder valve is working fine.
Will be glad to answer any other questions.
