Kaven,
the bowels will come, and when they do, hold on partner.
I didn’t use the bathroom for 7 days post surgery. It didnt really start happening for me until I started eating a lot of greens (fiber is your friend) and took most forms of meat out of my diet. I was getting protein from beans, greek yogurt, and spinach. You have to remember that opiates will severely constipate you, I had to refrain from taking any for 2 days until I was able to have a complete bowl movement. And when I did it was as hard as a rock. I havent taken a pain killer in 2 weeks and my bowls are now finally returning to normal. You also have to consider the antibiotic you are taking is a factor in your lack of bowl movements.
I say you take a day to go heavy on the greens, take a few stool softeners, and sit on the bowl for a bit and wait for it to happen. You aren’t going to get the urge so you’ll have to coax it out. DO NOT strain, your perineum is still healing and will continue you heal for a month or so post surgery.
