I still have the suprapubic in place since they are a little hesitant (along with me) to remove it till they investigate me a little more. Having said that I can’t recall if I shared that this is my second time around with a suprapubic? First time was 18 years ago when I first developed the stricture and was treated with a urethrotomy. That time when they removed it, they basically pulled it and put a bandage over it. I don’t remember having issues beyond a few days. Then I was in my 30’s and felt like I could heal a broken bone overnight. Now in my 50’s it seems like a sprain or muscle pull is a lifetime (or at least several months) disability. I have been a little concerned myself about how that will heal. I am at the 4 month mark, and having it that long makes me feel like it may take a little longer to heal. My Urologist Nurse tells me that it will just heal on it’s own and that the bladder will close up with in about 10 minutes. That is amazing to me. I’d imagine that it might weep for a while and that seems a little weird. If it becomes painful or doesn’t stop in a day or two I would call them. I don’t recall much about my previous removal so it must have gone ok?
