A late update: My VCUG and Catheter removal was done 2 days ago, March 21 2017. Absolutely a non-event. One happy camper. 🙂 Starting to urinate in the presence of 5 people (training in progress) took awhile. Stage Fright. I was in the prone position (Momma told me to quit peeing the bed, issue) Closed my eyes and pictured in my mind standing in front of a urinal. Finally worked. About 3 min wait. All good.
Dr Billy Cordon at Mount Sinai Center in Miami Beach, FL did the honors. I highly recommend him. He personally took the Floroscope images. He completed a Fellowship with Dr. Morey at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. (my I’m very glad to have his level of expertise available closer to my home. Follow-up visit in 3 months for Uroflow Test and then at the 1 year mark. To say my first voiding after the procedure was exciting would be an understatement. Similar to being 18yo again. Restrictions: 4 weeks until sex, lift no more than 10 lbs for 3 months, no riding bikes for 3 months.
If you’ve had any radiation treatment to the urethra (prostate cancer usually) don’t believe a Doctor that says you can’t have surgery after radiation. I’m proof it can be done.
And… A another shout out for Freedombelt. The device greatly improved my mobility over 30 days. I hold no interest in or remuneration from Freedombelt. Just a great product.
Ken, if you’re reading, Freedombelt is trying to contact you.
